Reader-first policy

The fine print that's actually readable.

Irene's Play gives you clear terms, honest review limits, and practical rules for taking part in our gaming community.

01

Terms of Use

These terms cover access to Irene's Play, its reviews, news, guides, comment areas, and related pages. The short version is simple: use the site lawfully, respect other readers, and treat editorial work as protected material.

Acceptance

When you browse, read, or post on this site, you agree to these terms and our community rules. If you disagree, please stop using the site. We may update the wording when our services or legal duties change; the current version applies after publication.

Our published work

Reviews, scores, headlines, layouts, graphics, and original analysis belong to Irene's Play unless a page says otherwise. You may quote brief passages with a clear link and credit. Republishing full articles, scraping our archive, or selling our copy needs written permission.

Your contributions

You keep ownership of a comment or message you submit. By posting it, you give Irene's Play permission to display, edit for clarity or safety, and archive it as part of the site. Post only material you have the right to share.

Decisions are yours

Our reviews are editorial opinions, not purchase instructions or guarantees of enjoyment. Check a game's current price, platform requirements, patches, and age rating before spending money or time. You make the final call.

Pennsylvania law governs these terms. No hidden arbitration or class-action waiver is tucked into this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pennsylvania, without using its conflict-of-law rules. Any court matter connected to the site belongs in a court with proper jurisdiction in Pennsylvania, unless applicable law requires another venue.

Access can change

We can correct, pause, remove, or reorganise pages at any time. We may restrict access to a person who abuses the site, breaks the law, targets other readers, or repeatedly ignores moderation instructions.

02

Review Disclaimer & Scoring Transparency

A score is a compact editorial judgment, built from the evidence available during testing. It is never a promise that every player will have the same experience.

Our reviews are opinions based on a stated method.

We weigh play, writing, design, accessibility, technical performance, and value for the release context. A 7 is not a failure, and a 9 is not a command to buy. Read the written reasons beside the number.

Affiliate links are labelled

Some links may earn Irene's Play a commission if you use them. That relationship does not change the score or the criticism. We identify commercial links near the relevant recommendation.

Sponsorship transparency

Sponsored material is separated from independent editorial review and marked in plain language. A publisher, platform holder, or agency cannot buy a favourable verdict. Access to a review copy also does not guarantee coverage or a positive score.

Spoilers are signposted

We keep major story turns out of headlines and opening paragraphs. Significant plot details sit behind clear spoiler labels or warnings. Comment sections may contain details after a game has launched, so scan the warning before reading on.

Scores can be revisited

Major patches, expansions, platform changes, or a materially different live-service state may prompt an update. We mark meaningful changes so you can see what moved and why.

03

Comment and Community Rules

Good criticism needs room for disagreement. These community guidelines protect that room without asking everyone to share the same opinion.

Argue the point

Challenge a score, mechanic, or interpretation with reasons. Personal attacks, threats, harassment, and hate speech are removed.

Keep promotion out

Do not use comments for repeated self-promotion, referral codes, commercial pitches, or links that have nothing to do with the discussion.

Mark story details

Put “Spoiler” in the opening of a comment when it reveals a plot turn, ending, secret boss, or late-game location. Give readers a chance to look away.

Report problems

Flag abusive, illegal, deceptive, or spoiler-heavy posts through the available reporting route. Moderation decisions consider context, repetition, and the safety of the wider thread.

Moderators may edit or remove a post, close a thread, or limit an account without debating each action in public. We aim to explain serious removals when doing so will not worsen the problem.

04

Limits of Our Benchmarks

Technical testing helps show patterns. It cannot reproduce every living room, driver set, display, console revision, or background process.

Why can your frame rate differ?

Hardware configurations vary. CPU, GPU, memory, storage, cooling, display settings, operating-system updates, and background tasks can change results even when the headline specifications look similar.

What happens after a patch?

Drivers, firmware, and game patches can alter image quality, loading, crashes, and frame pacing. We test at launch and revisit major patches when access and time allow. Older figures remain labelled by test date.

Are the numbers guaranteed?

No. Our benchmark figures are indicative observations from named hardware and settings, not a guarantee for your system. Use them to compare conditions, then check current requirements before making a technical decision.

Who is responsible for an outcome?

Irene's Play is not liable for performance differences, lost progress, hardware damage, compatibility issues, or purchasing decisions based on a review or technical analysis. Follow the publisher's current support guidance for your setup.

A correction or policy concern belongs with the team at [email protected]. Give us the page name, the specific passage, and the evidence behind your concern.

Understand your rights before you take part.

Read these terms alongside the page you are using. If a clause feels unclear, contact Irene's Play at [email protected] and point to the exact wording.
